Digital key card

If you are moving to Vestfold, Drammen, Vestsiden or Papillon in Kongsberg or Campus Bø Student Housing (Gullbring), you can lock yourself in digitally!

Your digital key card will be activated from 1 pm the day your contract starts.

My key card is available on My page here on ssn.no and in the Student Sørøst app, so you can lock yourself in with your mobile phone (or laptop/tablet) at any time of the day.

With the digital keycard you can open all doors that you have been given access to (outside doors, doors to common rooms, storage rooms, laundry, etc. - in addition to your dormitory door, of course :).

Use the same user account in the app as on My page

My key card is a service you can find both on My page and in the Student Sørøst app.

Important! Remember to create a user in the app with the same user account as on My page! This will give you access to your tenancy and thus My key card in the app.

Downtime/lack of Internet

If you do not have internet access, or if My Page and/or the app is down, you will find it difficult to log in using My Key Card, so it is important that you always have a physical key card with you.

If this happens when you first log in and you have not yet received a physical key card, you can contact us by phone, email or chat and we will help you.

You can also contact your welfare host, contact details can be found on My page under My Tenancy (please save your welfare hosts name and number before you arrive the student housing).

Physical key card

If you are moving to Vestfold, Drammen, Vestsiden or Papillon in Kongsberg or Campus Bø Student Housing (Gullbring), you will also need a physical key card.

There are three ways to get the key card:

  1. By collecting your key card from the SSN Campus Office. Feel free to drop by our office on your campus and pick up your key card! Then we can get to know each other and you can get answers to any questions you may have 👋.

  2. By arranging in advance for the card to be left in your room. This is an easy and flexible solution as you can lock yourself in at any time with My Key Card and do not need to worry about the opening hours of the Campus Office.

  3. By having someone you know collect the key for you. The person who collects the key on your behalf will need to bring a letter of authorisation from you, or you can send us a message with the person's name.

NB! Check the opening hours and bring your ID

  • When moving in, you can get your key from 1.00 pm on the first day of the contract. On the first days of the contracts, offices usually close at 2.00 pm. On days when many people move in at the same time, like during the semester start, the offices have extended opening hours.

  • You can pick up your key on a different day than on the first day of the contract, but it must be picked up within our opening hours and within fourteen (14) days after the start of the contract.

  • Remember to bring valid identification (for example, bank card with photo, driver's license or passport).

Important! The first rent must be paid

The first rent invoice has to be paid before picking up your key. It takes approximately 2-3 days before payment is registered in our system. If you have not received an invoice by the start of the contract, please contact SSN's Finance Department.

Read more about rent in our FAQ.

Please bring a receipt when picking up the key if you paid the first invoice just a few days before moving in.

Collect the key card later?

If you are unable to collect the key to your housing unit within fourteen (14) days of the contract coming into effect, you must let us know.

If you do not wish to stay with us after all, you must cancel your contract as soon as possible. We will do our best to release you from the contract by finding a new tenant, but you must agree to pay the cancellation period, which is three (3) months.
