Did you know that many of our student housing areas have a swap shelf or even a swap room? Here you can drop off things you don't need or find something new - for free!
Do you have three salad bowls and little space in your kitchen cupboard? Put the one you never use on the swap shelf! Good for you and your kitchen cupboard, good for the person who comes to the swap shelf looking for a salad bowl and very good for the environment!
When you move out, new tenants are guaranteed to be happy that you've left behind the things you no longer need, and there is no need for a trip to the recycling centre (which you would otherwise have done, right?). And when you move in, you can find nice things you need for your dorm.

It goes without saying - no one wants to trade in a useless item. If you have things that don't work properly, you should sort them correctly as waste.
Remember that you can hand in EE waste (defective electrical gadgets) wherever they sell such products. Many of the student housings also have bins where you can hand in your EE waste. Check under Waste management on the page for your student housing to find out if this applies to you.
