Fancy something tasty AND healthy? These waffles are packed full of fibre, protein and carbohydrates and will fill you up the good way.
🧇 Enough for 10 waffles.
6 dl milk
4 eggs
75 g butter
150 g rye flour, finely ground
100 g wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tsp cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon
100 g oatmeal
Melt the butter and cook until it turns nut brown. Be careful not to let it burn.
Whisk together the milk, eggs and browned butter. Then whisk in all the dry ingredients.
Leave the batter on the kitchen worktop for 20 minutes. Feel free to add a little milk if the batter has become too thick.
Bake the waffles in a waffle iron.
Serve with fresh berries, your favourite jam, sour cream, butter and/or brown cheese! Or why not go the other way and add some cured ham or salami, brie, rocket and balsamic vinegar? Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs? Only your imagination sets the limit!
The waffles are also great in your packed lunch the next day! If you have leftover waffles, you can freeze them and take them out when you're hungry for something good.
