If you live with us, have applied for housing or health reimbursement or for some other reason created an account on SSN's My Page, you must use the same email address as on this account when you create a user account in the Student Sørøst app.
If you do not have an account on SSN's My page, enter the email address you wish to use.
Register your personal data to create your user account.
You will shortly receive an email to your registered email address. Here you will be asked to set a password and you can then log in to Student Sørøst app.
No, unfortunately this does not work. If you already have a user account on SSN's My page (something you probably have if you are a resident, have applied for student housing, have submitted an application for a health reimbursement or have children in kindergarten at SSN), you can log in with this. Otherwise you have to create a new account, but you can create this with your USN address :)
To get your student status validated, please remember to register in the app with the same phone number as you are registered with at USN.
No, as of today this is not possible. You can use the same e-mail address as in your Feide account when you create a new user in Student Sørøst, but it will not be linked to your Feide account.
If, on the other hand, you already have SSN's My page, you can use the same user account in the app!
How to create a user account in Student Sørøst.
Tap on your Profile Settings in Student Sørøst.
Enter your mobile number. Use the same number that you are registered with at USN.
Choose Student at the "I am..."-section and choose the correct school.
Press "Save" (green button at the bottom of the screen).
You'll now be asked to verify your phone number. Press verify number and use the code you receive in the SMS to authenticate yourself. NB! Verification of student status is available for USN students only.
You will now be notified quickly whether your student status has been approved or not.
If you have not paid the semester fee, you will not have student status approved (even if you are a student at USN).
Done everything on the list, but still not approved for student status?
Tap on your Profile Settings in Student Sørøst.
Set Customer Type to Student USN.
Enter your mobile number. Use the same number that you are registered with at USN.
Press verify number and use the code you receive in the SMS to authenticate yourself.
You will now be notified quickly whether your student status has been approved or not.
If you have not paid the semester fee, you will not have student status approved.
If your student status did not get approved, despite the fact that you have used the correct telephone number and have paid the semester fee, we ask you to send us an e-mail to [email protected], and attach a picture of your student ID. We will help you!
Do you remember that you have already had your student status approved, but experience that this is now gone? In that case, you probably have two or more user accounts in the app, and have been logged out of the account where you verified your phone number. You can only verify this number once, so if you log in with another account, you will not be able to verify the same mobile number again.
Try logging out of the account you are currently logged in with that does not have approved student status. Log in again with the other account, and see if you are not verified there;)
If you already had a user account on SSN's My page (associated with an application for housing / you are a resident of SSN's student housing or have applied for a health refund), this also works in the app. We recommend that you use this account and that you avoid creating new accounts. Request a new password if you do not remember the password.
If you live in an SSN student housing with a key card, you can use My key card in the app or on My page via a web browser to open all the doors you have access to in your tenancy.
When you create your user account in the Student Sørøst app, you must use the same email address that you are registered with on SSN's My page. This is important for linking you to your tenancy so that you have access to unlock doors.
Go to the Student Housing service.
Sign in with your My Page account if you are not already signed in.
Go to My Tenancy -> My Keycard.
Under My key card you will see all the doors you can open.
Press Open on the door you want to open.
The door will open!
PS. Remember to take your key card with you when you leave your apartment. If the app or My page is down or you do not have an internet connection, My key card will not work.
If the app is down, you can unlock yourself via My Page on ssn.no.
If it is My Page that is down, you should use your physical key card.
If you don't have a key card and need help with locking in, there are several options:
If you have purchased Kaffekort, you will find your QR code under the QR icon and then "Loyalty cards" in the bottom menu on the home screen.
How to buy Coffee card.
If you have received a coupon, you will find your QR code on the individual coupon under the QR icon and then "Coupons" in the bottom menu on the app's home screen.
NB. To get coupons and buy the Coffee card, you must be a student and have set student status under your profile settings in the app.
Coupons are only issued to users who are students at USN, the Technical College in Vestfold and Telemark, the Technical College in Viken and the Police Academy in Stavern. Under Profile settings, you can set the correct student status, and you will thus receive coupons. The same applies to the Coffee card, which is a student offer. You must have set student status in the app in order to buy and use the Coffee card.
You will find your coupons behind the middle icon in the bottom menu of the Student Sørøst app. Select the "Coupons" tab.
When you arrive at the canteen and want to use your coupon in the self-serviced check out, do the following:
Scan your QR code (the till will then know which coupons you have).
Tap on the item you have a coupon for (at the check out screen) or scan it if it has a barcode (example: choose the item Coffee cup if you are going to use a coupon for free coffee).
Select the coupon you will use in the app and scan the QR code. You will now see that the sum of the item you have a coupon for goes to zero :)
Scan any other items you want to buy at the same time.
Push Betal (pay)!
Student bonus is a "member benefit" for all students who have the Student Sørøst app. When you (as a student) buy food by weight in the canteen on campus, you collect bonus kroner. Student bonus only applies to app users who are students.
The bonus is 3% on the sum of food by weight. Campaigns where Student bonus can be collected when purchasing other products may also occur, stay tuned!
You can see your earned student bonus by going to the Food and drink service in the Student Sørøst app. Under the selected campus, you will see a field with "Student bonus" and your balance.
Scan your QR code and enter the food you are going to buy. If you have saved up more than NOK 1, - you will automatically get a choice at checkout, if you want to use Student Bonus. Confirm and your Student Bonus will be deducted from the amount you pay. Pay the remaining amount as usual (if there is any).
If you are at a checkout with a cashier, you ask to use the bonus and the cashier confirms the use of the bonus, so that you only pay the remaining amount.
There is no upper or lower limit on which purchases provide student bonus. Your bonus is available immediately after the completed purchase, and can be used from the next purchase as long as it has exceeded NOK 1. You also receive student bonus on purchases that are paid in full or in part with bonus kroner.
Go to Food and Drink and "Kjøp kaffekort" (Buy coffee cards). The app now takes you to the "nettbutikk" (online store).
Select "Klippekort Kaffe" (NOK 110) and Add.
Select "Til betaling" (Payment). You can either pay yourself, or ask someone else to pay for you!
If you want to ask someone else to pay for you, enter the phone number of the person you want to send the request to (eg mom, dad or a friend who owes you money!). Write a message and leave your own mobile number as well. Press Send SMS. Wait for the person to pay.
Pay for the Coffee Card yourself by choosing Vipps or card payment.
When the purchase is completed, the Coffee Card will appear under the QR code icon in your app (in the middle of the menu bar at the bottom). It may take some time before the Coffee card is displayed in the app, have a little patience.
NOTE! We recommend that you buy the Coffee Card well in advance before you intend to use it for the first time.
We are also very grateful if you remember to have the app and your QR code ready BEFORE you arrive at the checkout (to have the QR code scanned and use one clip). This to help us avoid queuing at the checkout 😉
Sorry, you are currently unable to change the email address associated with your user account yourself.
If you need to change your e-mail address, you can contact SSN Service by e-mail, and we will help you. Remember to include both your old and new e-mail address in your message to us :)
Check the inbox of the email address you used when you registered. You should find an e-mail where you can set a password, so that you can log in.

Unfortunately, this is a bug that can occur when many systems need to sync with each other. If you find that the app freezes or hangs, try the following:
