Hilde is a trained nurse with extended education in mental health work. It is important for her to meet you with an open mind, and that you can explore the possible reasons for the arrival of difficulties together.
For some, stress with exams can be difficult to deal with, while others struggle with close relationships. Both friendship and family can be demanding! Some students carry with them difficult experiences from both childhood and adolescence. Some have experienced painful thing that still causes problems as adults and some experience painful things in adulthood. All of this can disrupt concentration and drain energy.
Hilde will be available at Campus Vestfold three times a week.
You can contact the advisor/coordinator for student relations by sending a message via the contact button or by stopping by the office. The advisor/coordinator is often out on campus on assignment, so you may encounter a closed door, but try again later.

Tone is head of the Health Promotion and Prevention department at SSN. She works to ensure that students have a good and meaningful student life. Tone has an office in Vestfold, but is also out and about on all campuses. She is interested in co-creation and participation and working across sectors.
Tone is a trained nurse, is a subject teacher and has a master's degree in health promotion, as well as a management programme. She has previously worked as a nurse, counsellor and manager in various areas of health and education.

Tonje Berg Furustad is based at Campus Vestfold, and has supported and helped the associations and volunteers associated with USN and SSN for a number of years. Tonje knows something about everything from bar operations, finances, security (she has been a security guard!) to board work (she is the former chairman of SSN). If you have questions about starting and running a student association, Tonje is THE ONE.
Do you have any questions? Do you need someone to talk to about small or big things in life? Do you need help finding an association or something else to join? Is there something going on in the flat share you live in?
On campus, you can meet an easily accessible counsellor/coordinator who you can talk to about these things and much more. In short, most things that concern you as a student - in your life outside your studies.
If you are already involved in student volunteering, you can also get help and support with student association work. If you want to get in touch with the associations on your campus, the student relations advisor/coordinator is also the person to talk to!
You can book an appointment online or by phone at the Drop-in Doctors in Tønsberg. They offer both video consultation and attendance at the clinic.
Students at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), Campus Vestfold, and young people over the age of 20 without a GP in Horten can contact Horten emergency medical service (telephone 33 03 18 90), preferably between 8 am - 2 pm.
Here you will be referred to the relevant medical center that is on call for an appointment. The emergency room is otherwise open for emergencies 24 hours a day.
🦠 You can get tested for sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea at your GP's office or at the Youth Health Centre in Horten. Getting tested is free of charge.
🍆 Free condoms are available on campus (in the SSN service office on Fagerlund), or you can order free condoms yourself.
Horten Municipality offers a free health station for young people between 13-20 years once a week.
At the Youth Health Center you can:
Get guidance on contraception and sexual health.
Get help in mental health and other health issues.
Have a contraceptive implant or spiral inserted.
Get tested for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
The health station for youth is for both boys and girls, and those who work there are used to talking about most things. They have good knowledge about sexual health, contraception and sexually transmitted diseases, and about talking about things that can be difficult and challenging in life.
The health station for youth is located at the health station, which is located at the main entrance to the City Hall in Horten. You do not need to book an appointment in advance.

How to get an appointment?
International students can get an appointment with the GP in one of three ways:
1. By contacting a GP in the city and asking for an appointment.
2. By contact the municipality of, who will help you to find a GP who can offer a consultation.
3. If urgent medical attention is required: Contact the emergency care unit (116 117) or call 113 if it is critical.
Students from EU/EEA countries or Switzerland:
Students from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland are entitled to necessary medical attention at treatment locations associated with the public health service. Upon presentation of a European Health Insurance Card they will be charged the same amount as Norwegians pay for the same health service.
Students from countries outside the EU/EEA:
Students from countries outside the EU/EEA are not entitled to coverage for costs of medical treatment from the Norwegian National Insurance scheme and are not entitled to get their medical expences compensated. Students in this category must pay the excess/fee when using GP services in accordance with the standard tariff for patients not covered by the National Insurance scheme for each appointment/consultation.
Additional services such as taking blood samples or other medical procedures/tests are not included in this example. Students from outside the EU/EEA must pay the full cost of GP visits and seek a refund from their private travel insurance policy.
