Mmmm... grilled melon!

Grilled melon is super good! Use this recipe as a standalone dish on the buffet table or as an accompaniment to other barbecue foods.

Grilled melon

You need:

  • Watermelon, honeydew melon or piel de sapo

  • Olive oil or neutral oil

  • Maldon salt

  • Crushed black pepper

Suggestions for topping:

Pumpkin or sunflower seeds, Norwegian cured ham, mozzarella, burrata, cottage cheese, ricotta or grilled halloumi cheese.

Greens: Basil, parsley, arugula/rocket salad, spinach leaves.

How to make grilled melon:

  • Cut melon into slices, solid melons are cleaned of core.

  • Brush or rub the discs in with oil.

  • Grill on a hot grill until the slices have received golden stripes from the grate.

  • Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  • Top with desired topping.

Although melon is sweet and good, it is actually low in calories and healthy. Melons contain:

  • As much as 91% water!

  • Calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C.

  • Dietary fiber.
