Vision

Our vision should contribute to all students in our region enjoying a good student environment, both now and in the future. We will therefore work to meet the needs of current students, without harming the potential for the needs of future students to be met. That’s why we say “for everyone, forever”.

The mission

The mission sets out, more specifically, how we need to work to achieve our vision. In order to succeed with our vision, we will offer inclusive services that meet students’ needs and contribute to a good student environment. To safeguard “always”, sustainability has to permeate everything we do. 

To sum up, our vision and mission reflect what we want to achieve for the students, and at the same time we describe how we are going to implement this.

Efforts both nationally and globally

We enjoy a high level of prosperity in Norway, providing us with a good starting point for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. However, we face challenges related to greenhouse gas emissions, nature and the use and consumption of resources. Physical activity, diet and mental health are also highlighted as areas for improvement. As a result, SSN has considerable opportunities to contribute in those areas where efforts are required nationally, while at the same time supporting efforts aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals globally.

Sustainable Development Goals to be reached by 2030

We will contribute actively to sustainable development and accept our share of the responsibility for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

We will make it possible, through everything we do, for students to make sustainable choices in their day-to-day lives and to establish good habits. We will also challenge both students and business partners in respect of sustainability, and of course we will lead by example.
