We have created routes for a number of different trips in Hønefoss, some starting from the campus. Remember that you can enter any trip you've taken!
During April, joint tours or activities will be set up on most campuses. Filter your campus in the Sørøst-calendar and find walks where you are, or other things to join!

The route is a loop on the path around Schjongslunden (1700 m). The path is marked with signs every 100 m. The path goes past Bystranda, where a bend in the river has created a lovely bathing beach. A lovely place for a dip, summer or winter! You also pass AKA Arena, where HBK, Hønefoss Ballklubb, train. The ice hall where the hockey team, the Panthers, play their home games is also here. In the building to the west of the map you will find a climbing hall with a cafe.

DESCRIPTION: Flat, short, close to campus.
ENVIRONMENT: Culture, small town.
TYPE OF ROAD: Asphalt/ pavement.
About 20 minutes' walk from campus Hønefoss you will find Fosseparken! A newly built skate park in the heart of the town. The trip from Campus to Fosseparken goes along Osloveien, the main thoroughfare through the city. There is an asphalt pavement all the way to the park.
Riddergården in Hønefoss is a good example of a loop farm/city loop, and a very nice destination for a walk! Only 30 minutes from the campus you will find this old, historic square, with several buildings from the 18th century.
The farm is located on a small headland, where Randselva and Ådalselva meet and form Storelva. The Storelva then flows further into the Tyrifjorden, approx. 20 km away.
Directly behind the university building there is a hill. This hilly trail is perfect for interval training! Nice trails have been laid out here. You decide how long the walk will be.
Just under half an hour's easy walk from the campus you will find Hønefossen itself. It got its name from the farm above: Hønen farm. The waterfall is regulated by a dam above, but when it is unleashed in all its glory it is quite a sight! The waterfall has given power to a lot of industry in the town, especially to sawmills along the river, where access to floating timber was good.
Today, the waterfall is decorated with the artwork "Oppgangssaga". A reciprocating saw is a water-powered saw with a straight saw blade that moves straight up and down. This is the starting point for the sculpture made by Knut Steen. On the railing on the south side of the bridge you will find the artwork "The Hatter's War". It is a wrought iron sculpture depicting the battles between the labor movement and the sheriff precisely at Hønefossen in 1851. The sculpture was made by Asle Raaen. The wearers are also adorned with art. Here it is graffiti artist Børge Brekke who has painted Halvdan Svarte.

3.4 km from campus you will find the Ringerikes Museum in Norderhov. The road to the museum leads from the campus up towards the hospital and Hvervenkastet, and then on a separate sidewalk along the E16 to Ringvold apple farm. Look for the church spire and you'll find your way!
The museum hosts many exciting exhibitions, concerts, lectures and other activities throughout the year. This is a great walk with an exciting destination!
