About the buildings:

Breisås 4 was built in 1996 and consists of a total of nine houses with 11 apartments and 50 single units where two and two share a bathroom and kitchen.

  • The 11 apartments (37 sqm) are spread over three houses. Here there are also two single units that share a kitchen and bathroom.
  • The remaining six houses contain 48 single units where two and two share a kitchen and bathroom (11,12-5 sqm). There is also a common living room for the residents.

Practical info about Breisås 4:

Location

The student accommodation is located 1.5 km from campus. It takes about 6-7 minutes to cycle to campus, and about 19 minutes by bus. Read more about Campus Bø at usn.no

Electricity is included in the rent. 

Think of the environment - help us to save electricity!

Attractive outdoor areas. Feel free to use any outdoor furniture, but show consideration for your neighbours when using the outdoor areas. Always put the furniture back in its place and wipe the outdoor table after use. Pick up paper and other waste so the outdoor areas remain attractive. 

Parking is available nearby the student accommodation and is free of charge. Your bicycle can be parked outside the buildings or inside lockable stalls belonging to the different buildings. Remember private lock to avoid theft of your bike!

Borgja Terrasse is the nearest bus stop, just a few minutes' walk from the student housing.

Each house has a laundry room with washing machine and a drying cupboard. 

Each house has an outdoor, common storage room.

Recycling station with boxes for sorting, labelled in English and Norwegian. Every kitchen must have bio bags for organic waste and boxes for paper/cardboard, glass, metal and residual waste.  Remember to recycle!

Electricity

The property has electricity as an energy source. Electricity is included in the rent.

☀️ There is no cooling installed on the property and in the summer months it can get hot inside if it is hot outside.

Fire alarm system

It is very important for your safety and the safety of others that you have familiarised yourself with the fire alarm system in your student residence. You can find information about the fire alarm system that applies to you on My page under Fire information. It is important that you read this and tick that the information has been read and understood.

There are also notices in the student accommodation that provide you with information.

Cable in router

Internet via cable


A router from SSN has been placed in your apartment. To use a wired connection, you must connect the device you wish to use through this.

We recommend that you use network cables of the standard cat5e or newer.

Priv-ssid: Private wireless network

Private WiFi

SSID and password for your personal wireless network can be found under the internet tab on My page.

SSN external

This wireless network is reserved for tenants who do not have an account to use eduroam. If you are not a student or employee at USN you will find the password under the Internet tab on my page.

WiFi: Eduroam

This is the same wireless network that you will find on campus (in addition to a number of other locations). To log in to eduroam, you must use your student account ([email protected] + password). You obtain your student account from the university at the start of studies. More information about student accounts can be found on the USN website.


Eduroam uses wpa-enterprise for authentication. This means you need both a username and password to log in. Many devices such as smart TV, Chromecast, Apple TV and gaming consoles do not support this and therefore cannot be used on Eduroam.

WiFi public areas

These wireless networks are also available in public areas (kitchen/lounge/hallway).

Physical key retrieved from the SSN campus office

You will receive a physical key, which you must pick up at SSN's campus office. The key is ready from 1 pm on the day your contract starts.



Subject to errors in inventory. In addition, some inventory may apply to common areas and not the individual unit.

All keys and key cards must be delivered by 10 am on the last day of the contract.

The housing unit must be ready for handover (emptied, cleared and cleaned).

You can either deliver the key in the service office or in one of our dropboxes.
